Aurora Alliegro
DC8: Doctoral Candidate at Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg, AustriaI am an Italian doctoral candidate at Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg. My research addresses how Public Interest Media interpret and implement sustainability and sustainable development. Prior to joining RePIM, I studied and worked in several European countries. I earned an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Journalism, Media & Globalisation from Aarhus University and LMU Munich. Previously, I completed a BA in History at the University of Naples Federico II. Beyond academia, I explored innovation at the NATO NCI Academy and held strategic communication and journalism roles across international media organizations. In my free time, I enjoy learning about the world through books, films, and travel.
Teresa Bandeira de Carvalho
DC10: Doctoral Candidate at University of Warsaw, PolandI am a doctoral candidate at the University of Warsaw, where I research public support for non-Public Service Media organisations and the future of PSM in Europe. Originally from Portugal, I previously worked in digital and political communications across think tanks, NGOs, independent media, and European institutions in Brussels. Outside of work, I enjoy writing fiction and essays, reviewing films and books, and I am interested in the relationship between popular culture and politics.
Nanoek Bos
DC7: Doctoral Candidate at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, BelgiumIn the RePIM project, I am working on change strategies in Public Service Media organisations. I am Dutch and studied at the University of Amsterdam. My Bachelor’s degree combined politics, psychology, law and economics and my Master’s degree focused on communication and information. As part of the latter, I did an internship in Strasbourg with the European Science Foundation. Staying in the domain of science communication, I did a traineeship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Karlsruhe. On a personal note, I enjoy yoga and dancing; and I’ve been compared to Phoebe from Friends when it comes to my personality.
Lorenzo Sascor
DC2: Doctoral Candidate at Charles University Prague, CzechiaI am an Italian PhD student in Film Studies at Charles University in Prague. My research project examines the production of online-first content by European public broadcasters. More specifically, I investigate how the public service remit is translated into the everyday routines of commissioning, development, and production, and how online production practices differ from those of legacy broadcasting. I hold a Master’s degree in Cinema, Television, and Multimedia Production from the University of Bologna, where I completed a thesis on the circulation of Italian television series in Europe. I write for online magazines about film and television and have collaborated with institutions dedicated to the promotion of audiovisual culture.
Mayank Yadav
DC3: Doctoral Candidate at Aalborg University Copenhagen, DenmarkI am a PhD Fellow in the RePIM Doctoral Network, based at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. My research (DC3, within Work Package 4) aims to improve the quality of news chatbots for Public Service Media. Originally from India, I moved to Copenhagen from Sydney, where I completed a Master of Information Technology specializing in Artificial Intelligence at UNSW Sydney. Before that, I worked across machine learning and natural language processing, with published research on multimodal NLP. Outside research, I experiment with algorithmic trading systems, follow Formula 1, and enjoy hiking.
Runa Ziegler
DC6: Doctoral Candidate at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, BelgiumWithin RePIM I am working on the project “Global logics in local contexts: Reinventing partnership strategies for Public Interest Media”, based at the VUB. I grew up in Germany but moved to Sweden several years ago, first to study International Relations and then a Master’s in Democracy Sciences. However, I’ve always been torn between my interest in political sciences and media and communication, so I decided to pursue a second Master’s in Media and Communication Sciences where I focused on political communication in Sweden, especially on TikTok. One of my goals for the next couple of years (apart from the PhD) is to finish my paragliding license, but I am yet to find hills near Brussels…
